''என்னுடைய வாழ்க்கையில், எதற்காகவாவது நான் கவலைப்பட வேண்டும் என்றால், உயர்ந்த தமிழ் மொழியை கற்க முடியாமல் போனதற்கு மட்டும் தான்'' என்றார் காந்தியடிகள்.
வெளிநாட்டிலிருந்து இங்கு வந்து, தமிழ் தொண்டாற்றியவரை நாம் மறந்தால் நன்றி கொன்றோர் ஆவோம். அப்படி வெளிநாட்டில் இருந்து இங்கு வந்து தமிழ் வளர்த்தவர் வீரமாமுனிவர். இவரது இயற்பெயர் கான்ஸ்டாண்டிசியஸ் ஜோசப் பெஸ்கி.
தேம்பாவணி எனும் பெருங்காவியத்தை, யாப்பிலக்கண பிழையின்றி, கம்பன் காவியம்போல் வடித்தெடுத்து தமிழன்னைக்கு சூட்டி மகிழ்ந்துள்ளார். மூன்று காண்டங்களில் 36 படலங்களை கொண்டு மொத்தமாக 3615 விருத்தபாக்களால் ஆனது இந்த காவியம். இதிலும் ஒரு சிறப்பு இருக்கிறது. பின் இணைப்பாக யாப்பு வடிவங்களை அளித்திருக்கிறார்.
இளமையும் கல்வியும்
இவர் இத்தாலி நாட்டில் உள்ள மாந்துவா மாவட்டத்தில் காஸ்திகிலியோன் என்னும் சிற்றுாரில் 1680 நவம்பர் 8-ல் பிறந்தார். பெற்றோர் கொண்டல்போ பெஸ்கி, எலிசபெத் அம்மையார். இளமையிலேயே பன்மொழி கற்கும் ஆர்வம் இவருக்கு இருந்தது. பல மொழிகளை கற்றார். இத்தாலியம், கிரேக்கம், எபிரேயம், லத்தீன், போர்ச்சுக்கீசியம் முதலிய ஐரோப்பிய மொழிகளை ஆழமாக கற்றார்.
சமயப்பணி
தன்னுடைய 30 வயதில் தமிழ்நாட்டுக்கு கிறிஸ்தவ சமய பணி நிமித்தமாக வந்தார். தமிழ்நாட்டில் தஞ்சாவூர், அரியலுார், மதுரை, காமநாயக்கன்பட்டி, கயத்தாறு முதலிய இடங்களில் பணியாற்றினார். சமய பணி செய்வதற்காகவே தமிழ் கற்க தொடங்கினார். சுப்பிர தீபக் கவிராயர் என்பவரிடம் தமிழை கற்றார். இலக்கணங்களை, இலக்கியங்களை தோய்ந்து, தோய்ந்து கற்றார். அதனால் கடல் மடை என கவிபாடும் ஆற்றல் இவருக்குள் புகுந்து.
சமயம் பரப்ப வந்தவர், தமிழ் பரப்பி தமிழ் வளர்க்கும் தொண்டரானார். சமஸ்கிருதம், தெலுங்கு, உருது மொழிகளிலும் புலமை பெற்றார். தமிழக கலாசாரத்தின் மீது மிகுந்த பற்று கொண்டதால், நடை, உடை பாவனைகளையும் தமிழ் முனிவர் போல் மாற்றி கொண்டார்.
காவி உடுத்தார், தாடி வளர்த்தார், சைவ உணவே உண்டார். தம்முடைய பெயரை 'தைரியநாத சுவாமி' என மாற்றி வைத்து கொண்டார். அதுவே அழகு தமிழில் வீரமாமுனிவர் ஆயிற்று.
தமிழில் அமைந்த காப்பியங்களிலேயே தமிழை தாய்மொழியாக கொள்ளாத வெளிநாட்டவர் ஒருவரால் இயற்றப்பட்ட பெருமை தேம்பாவணிக்கே உண்டு. வீரமாமுனிவரை போல வேறு எந்த காப்பிய புலவரும் சிற்றிலக்கியம், அகராதி, இலக்கணம், உரைநடை என பிற இலக்கிய வகைகளில் நுால்கள் படைக்கவில்லை. இவர் இயற்றிய சிற்றிலக்கியங்கள், சிந்தனையை கவர்பவை.
அவை, கித்தேரி அம்மானை, அடைக்கல மாலை, அடைக்கல நாயகி, வெண் கலிப்பா, அன்னை அழுங்கல் அந்தாதி, தேவாரம், கருணாம்பர பதிகம் ஆகியவற்றையும், தமிழ் செய்யுள் திரட்டு என்ற ஒன்றையும் தந்துள்ளார்.
மதுரை தமிழ்சங்கமே வீரமாமுனிவர் என்னும் பட்டத்தை அளித்து பாராட்டியது. அதுவே இவர்தம் இயற்பெயராக அமைந்து விட்டது. தைரியநாதர், இசுமதி, சந்நியாசி எனும் பெயர்களால் அழைக்கப்பட்டாலும், வீரமா முனிவர் எனும் தமிழ்பெயரே தக்க பெயராகி நிலைத்தது. இவர் 1742-ல் மதுரையை விட்டு சென்று 1746--47-ம் ஆண்டில் கேரள மாநிலம் அம்பலக்காட்டில் வாழ்ந்தார் என்றும், அங்கேயே 1747 பிப்., 4-ல் இறந்தார் என்றும் வீரமா முனிவரின் வாழ்வை ஆய்ந்துள்ள முனைவர் ச.இராசமாணிக்கம் கூறியுள்ளார்.

Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Gifts
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.
Shipping

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over Rs. 10000, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
